Competitor Analysis

Map your competitive landscape with real-time data on pricing, features, and market positioning.

VibeCom's Competitor Analysis feature maps your competitive landscape using live web research. You'll understand who's in your market, what they charge, how they position themselves, and where the gaps are.

What You Get

A full competitor analysis report includes:

  • Competitor list — Direct and indirect competitors, ranked by relevance
  • Pricing comparison — Current pricing tiers and model (per seat, usage-based, etc.)
  • Feature matrix — Side-by-side feature comparison
  • Positioning map — How each competitor positions in the market
  • Gaps & opportunities — Where existing solutions fall short
  • Moat analysis — What defensible advantages each competitor has

How to Trigger It

From chat: Ask naturally:

"Who are my competitors and how do they compare?"

"What does [competitor name] charge and what do they offer?"

"Where are the gaps in the current competitive landscape?"

As a skill: Type /competitor in the chat to trigger a structured competitor analysis.

Interpreting the Results

Direct vs. Indirect Competitors

VibeCom distinguishes between:

  • Direct competitors — Same solution, same customer segment
  • Indirect competitors — Different solution solving the same problem
  • Future threats — Adjacent products that might expand into your space

The Positioning Map

The positioning map plots competitors on two axes (typically price vs. features, or enterprise vs. SMB). Look for open spaces — those represent positioning opportunities.

Gap Analysis

Pay close attention to the gaps section. These are customer needs that existing competitors don't serve well. A strong gap is the foundation of a differentiation strategy.

Limitations

  • Competitor data is based on public information (websites, pricing pages, reviews)
  • Pricing may change — always verify directly with the competitor's current pricing page
  • Private or stealth competitors won't appear in the analysis
  • Market positioning is interpreted from public messaging and may not reflect internal strategy

Example Prompt

"I'm building a project management tool for freelance designers. Who are my main competitors, what do they charge, and where are the obvious gaps I could exploit?"

VibeCom will research tools like Notion, Linear, Asana, and niche freelancer tools — then identify what's missing for the design-freelancer segment specifically.
